The first guest post on Downrange Data comes from Zach Griffiths. Zach’s the principal reason I started writing in the first. He’s one of NSTR’s founding members and has been an advocate for servicemembers capturing our thoughts and experiences and sharing them since his first post. Here he provides a short review of how he used data to identify the problem, and through perseverance, convinced the Army to reinvest in our own authorship, much Major General Edwin ‘Forrest’ Harding did almost a century ago.
The team at The Harding Project is still working hard, with a special single volume print issue on all things writing coming out next month. Zach’s also always looking for more converts, so if you’ve got an idea for a post, don’t hesitate to reach out.
In that same vein, if you have your own vignette on how you’ve leveraged data at your unit which you’d like to share, hit me up. We’ve got two more guest posts coming, and I’m always on the hunt for more service members working to help drive this change for the services.
Fascinating stuff. I’ve loved watching this evolve. If any of you need help with things like scraping, cleaning data, extracting information, programming, AI, or anything else then I would be happy to assist.
