Great catch. Where to hang the OneNote is always a decision. Local share drive gets you the fastest synch and response but doesn't help those not on the local network. Hanging it on SharePoint is a little slower but makes it accessible to those who aren't local. Our Group has one battalion permanently forward on the other side of the International Date Line (IDL) and has multiple teams forward across Asia continuously throughout the year. So, we hung most of our notes on the SharePoint, but did have some resource intensive ones stored locally.
That said, one of the best parts about using OneNote vs. just SharePoint is moving notes between Notebooks in OneNote is super-fast and easy, while transferring whole SharePoint libraries can be a pain.
Why throw it up on sharepoint rather than the shared drive? Love onenote by the way, every unit I've seen that uses it benefits big time

Did you mastermind all this stuff or did you guys use a KM?
<long sigh> No KM. I'll write more about KM in 3.5 (https://downrangedata.substack.com/p/35-sua-sponte), but none of the things in Downrange Data were assisted by KM.
